The school “Flying fingers” is founded by Lyudmil Stoyanov in 2017.
Lyudmil has graduated from NAM “Prof. P. Vladigerov” specialising in “Pop and jazz guitar” (baccalaureate degree) and “Pedagogy of music teaching” (master’s degree), while also having teaching experience at the moment of the school’s founding (in kindergartens, schools, public music classes and with private students). He has participated in different bands and has composed songs and instrumental pieces in different styles.
Some of his students have founded their own bands and have played live at clubs and official events, at times sharing stages with famous Bulgarian performers. Some of them have successfully pursued higher musical education, while others have learned for fun.
While considering that musical skills and knowledge to be something, which can be developed with practice (not unlike many other skills), he has studied the styles of many educators, adopting different approaches to teaching – from ones common to NAM tutors, through private teachers, pedagogues, famous instructors and players on the internet, and even students explaining things among each other.
His style of teaching intertwines theory, practice (playing musical pieces) and exercises in the areas of guitar playing, solmization, instrument knowledge, harmony, improvisation, music theory and other areas, aiming to increase musical competency by acquiring different skills.
His experience with students includes both children at the age of three and elderly people, as well as many people of ages in between. The great variety of ages, levels of playing, interests and goals of the people he has worked with demanded of him to develop flexibility and individual approach towards each student.
His teaching philosophy is to explain, show and make sure that everything required for reaching his students’ goals is taught. He thinks that teaching would be as useful as the students' willingness to learn. According to him the most important thing for learning music is the personal desire in doing so and his goal is to not let this desire wane even in the face of difficulties.
Feel welcome to have a lesson!
